Vinny Rottino plays for the Milwaukee Brewers of the National League. As a native of nearby Racine and undrafted free agent, playing for the hometown Brewers is a dream come true.
It was kind of a blessing in a disguise that I didn't get drafted because right off the bat I'm a utility guy on the team, coming off the bench on the rookie ball team,” Rottino said.
“I kind of had to work in wherever I could to get at bats, whether that be the outfield, third, first or some catcher. Doing that at a low level of the minors gave me that role right away so it's becoming valuable now.”
Vinny is a cradle Catholic and very interested in sharing the faith with others, especially the young members of the church. He loves attending Mass and is thankful for the special graces the Lord bestows through the Mass.
