David Casper – Former NFL PlayerDavid Casper had a stellar collegiate and professional football career. One of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game, he captained the University of Notre Dame football team to the National Championship in 1973. Nicknamed “Ghost” by his teammates, Dave’s ten-year professional career, primarily with the Oakland Raiders, was highlighted by five Pro-Bowl selections, a Super Bowl Championship in 1977 and election to the Pro-Football Hall of Fame in February 2002. Dave’s 42-yard touchdown pass reception from Ken Stabler in a December 24, 1977 double overtime playoff game is one of the most memorable in NFL history. The catch has been immortalized by its nickname of “Ghost to the Post”.
David has been married for thirty-two years and has three children, and one grandson. He is Managing Director of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Networkoffice, Vernon Hills, Illinois. He is very active in assisting many charitable boards and assists in many local charitable events. |
