"CAC writer Jim Penrice’s new book “Living the Eucharist through Sports” was published this spring by St. Paul’s/Alba House.

The book reflects on sports as a profound way to live the Eucharist, joining us to Jesus, the greatest athlete ever. An athlete’s pledge to their teammates, coaches and fans has Eucharistic overtones: “This is my body, which will be given up for you.” The book offers an athletic perspective on the Mass, Eucharistic adoration, the sacrament of Reconciliation, the Rosary, prayer, humility, and suffering, among other topics.

The book also includes a foreword by CAC Advisory Chairman Mike Sweeney, offering his testimony to the central place of Christ in his athletic endeavors, as well as Mike’s advice to Catholic athletes striving to live their faith in the world of sports.
